Kelly has been an avid rider her whole life. She enjoys attending clinics and shows and loves a good trail ride! Kelly showed for decades, in everything from 3 day eventing to cattle penning, reining and gaming. As a seasoned rider, she knows what a difference the right disposition and confirmation in a horse can do.
Kelly started to commercially breed AQHA and APHA horses after moving out to British Colombia and later Alberta, where she stayed for 20 years, before returning back to Ontario.

Sunset Ranch was established in 2003, when Kelly moved back to the Bar River area in Northern Ontario and bought a 220 acre farm just around the corner from her childhood farm. Since then she has focused her horse breeding on performance horses from fantastic bloodlines, by her motto that you CAN breed for color, as long as you have disposition, conformation, temperament and pedigree as well. She says there is no reason why you can't have it all and she has proven it again and again with some of her fantastic foals.
Kelly is also very passionate about her local community and Sunset Ranch frequently hosts and helps with local horse shows, parades and events as well as other community activities.
